WhatsApp has announced the release of a new app designed for Apple Watch, allowing users to manage their WhatsApp chats directly from their wrist. The app introduces several features that have been frequently requested by users.

With this update, Apple Watch owners can receive call notifications and see who is calling without needing to check their iPhone. Users are also able to read full WhatsApp messages, including lengthy ones, on the watch display.

The app enables sending written messages and recording and sending voice messages directly from the device. Quick emoji reactions to received messages are supported as well. Images and stickers will appear more clearly on the Apple Watch, enhancing the media viewing experience. Additionally, users can view more of their chat history when reading messages.

WhatsApp emphasizes privacy in this release. "As always, your personal messages and calls remain private with end-to-end encryption," according to the company.

The new WhatsApp app is compatible with any Apple Watch Series 4 or later running watchOS 10 or newer versions. The company stated that this launch marks only the beginning: "This launch is just the start, and we’ll keep improving WhatsApp for Apple Watch based on your feedback."
