Banco Santander has introduced Navigator Global, a new digital platform designed to support businesses seeking international growth. The platform aims to help companies simplify decision-making, manage costs, and connect with verified partners at each stage of their export journey.
Navigator Global is initially available in the UK, with plans to launch in the US later this week. Santander expects to roll out the service across all its markets by the end of 2026. For countries where Santander does not have a direct banking presence, access will be provided through partner banks.
The new platform builds on previous efforts by Santander, which operated a similar service for UK customers between 2021 and 2025. During that period, more than 2,500 businesses received support as they expanded internationally. The renewed version will now be accessible in over 40 markets.
Santander developed Navigator Global in response to challenges identified through research among small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). According to Santander’s findings:
- Sixty-two percent of businesses report that unclear local regulations and compliance requirements are barriers to entering new markets.
- Fifty-eight percent cite high potential costs as their main concern when considering international expansion.
- Over half indicate difficulty identifying reliable local partners as an obstacle.
By addressing these issues directly, Navigator Global provides tools such as tailored action plans for market entry, live intelligence from local experts, educational events and webinars on key sectors and trade corridors, and regular editorial updates to keep users informed about market conditions.
The platform also connects users with commercial partners and a global network of over 250 verified providers intended to help reduce risk and save time. At key points during their trade journey, businesses can access global services including financial solutions.
Santander describes Navigator Global as “a clear example of the ONE Santander operating model,” noting it leverages group-wide investment in global platforms for greater efficiency and competitiveness while maintaining consistent quality across markets. This approach combines local expertise with global resources to provide what the bank calls “a seamless, intuitive, and trusted journey” for customers pursuing international opportunities.
Navigator Global was developed entirely by Santander using its own international trade experience along with dentsu’s technology expertise. The platform operates on a subscription basis offering standard and premium tiers for businesses seeking varying levels of support. Further details can be found at https://navigator.global
