Monique Allen, Senior Vice-President and Chief Information Officer for Canadian Technology and Enterprise Architecture at Sun Life Financial Inc., has been recognized as one of Canada's Most Powerful Women: Top 100 by the Women's Executive Network (WXN). Allen was selected in the CN Executive Leaders category, which acknowledges her achievements in business, leadership in technology, and commitment to inclusion.

Allen's career in financial technology spans more than two decades. She joined Sun Life in 2023 and currently leads the Digital Client and Technology Solutions team. In this role, she oversees technology strategy and execution for Sun Life Canada’s operations, as well as global enterprise architecture.

"Monique's leadership is a driving force behind Sun Life's digital transformation and continued growth," said Laura Money, Executive Vice-President, Chief Information and Technology Innovation Officer at Sun Life. "She has been a catalyst in advancing our digital capabilities, bringing technology and business functions closer together to enhance Client impact."

Jessica Tan, Executive Vice-President and President of Sun Life Canada, also commented on Allen’s influence within the company. "Monique's leadership has been instrumental in weaving digital into the fabric of Client outcomes and impact here at Sun Life," Tan said. "She's elevating the digital experience of innovative health and insurance solutions and digitizing financial planning tools to help Clients secure their financial future."

In response to receiving the award, Allen stated: "I'm honoured to be recognized among so many inspiring leaders. This award reflects the incredible work of my team and our shared commitment to innovation, empowering diverse talent, and making a meaningful impact for our Clients and communities."

Allen also serves on the board of Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences, contributing her expertise to a public teaching hospital that specializes in assessment and treatment services for individuals with complex mental illness. Her involvement highlights her ongoing advocacy for both improved health outcomes and financial security.

Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100 Award has honored women leaders across different sectors since its launch in 2003. The WXN program has celebrated over 1,000 women since its inception.
