ING has reported progress on its €2.0 billion share buyback programme, which was announced on 2 May 2025. The company stated that it repurchased a total of 4,091,000 shares during the week of 20 October to 24 October 2025.
The average price paid for these shares was €20.57, resulting in a total expenditure of €84,161,220 for the week. According to ING, "In line with the purpose of the programme to reduce the share capital of ING, the total number of shares repurchased under this programme to date is 100,595,891 at an average price of €19.76 for a total consideration of €1,987,702,983.32. To date approximately 99.39% of the maximum total value of the share buyback programme has been completed."
This buyback initiative aims to reduce ING's share capital and return value to shareholders.
