Meta has announced the launch of "ghost posts" on its Threads platform. This new feature allows users to create posts that automatically archive after 24 hours, giving them the opportunity to share thoughts without worrying about their content remaining online permanently.
According to Meta, "Here today and gone tomorrow, you can feel confident trying new things and posting spontaneous thoughts. Replies to ghost posts are sent to your messaging inbox, and only you can see who liked and replied. To create a ghost post, just toggle on the ghost icon."
The company stated that ghost posts are part of a broader effort to provide users with more ways to express themselves on Threads. Other recent updates include text attachments, which let users write up to 10,000 characters in a single post, as well as features introduced over the summer that allow hiding media or text in posts containing spoilers.
Meta indicated it will continue updating Threads with new tools designed to make sharing and connecting easier for its users.
