Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent is set to travel to Malaysia, Japan, and South Korea alongside President Donald J. Trump. During his visit to Malaysia, Bessent will meet with Vice Premier He Lifeng of the People’s Republic of China to discuss trade relations between the United States and China. He will also take part in the 47th Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit in Kuala Lumpur.
In Japan, Bessent will join President Trump for a state visit in Tokyo. Following this, he will travel to South Korea to participate in the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) South Korea 2025 Forum in Gyeongju.
