Secretary of State Marco Rubio is set to visit Israel from October 22 to 25, focusing on supporting the implementation of President Trump’s Comprehensive Plan to End the Conflict in Gaza. The plan has received broad international backing. According to Principal Deputy Spokesperson Thomas “Tommy” Pigott, "During his visit, the Secretary will reaffirm America’s unwavering commitment to Israel’s security and engage with partners to build on the historic momentum towards durable peace and integration in the Middle East."
Following his time in Israel, Secretary Rubio will travel to Kuala Lumpur, Tokyo, and Gyeongju from October 26 to 30. His agenda includes participation in the ASEAN Summits and related meetings, as well as attending the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders’ Week. The purpose of these visits is to further peace and prosperity in the Asia-Pacific region.
