Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent is set to visit Malaysia, Japan, and South Korea alongside President Donald J. Trump. During the trip, Secretary Bessent will meet with Vice Premier He Lifeng of China in Malaysia to discuss trade relations between the United States and China. He will also attend the 47th Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit in Kuala Lumpur.
In Japan, Secretary Bessent will take part in President Trump's state visit in Tokyo.
The itinerary also includes participation in the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) South Korea 2025 Forum in Gyeongju.
