ANZ has announced the appointment of Sheng Lee as Country Head for ANZ Vietnam, pending regulatory approval. Lee will report to Chris Raciti, who is ANZ’s Head of South East Asia, India and Middle East, and also serves as Country Head for Singapore.

Sheng Lee brings international experience from various senior positions within ANZ, including previous roles as Country Head in Vanuatu and Laos. He is currently serving as Head of Coverage in Hong Kong. Lee will succeed Mark Fitz-Gerald, the outgoing Country Head for Vietnam.

Chris Raciti commented on the appointment: “Sheng brings a strong foundation of knowledge and proven leadership to this role, and a steady pair of hands to guide our Vietnam business.

“Vietnam is an important part of ANZ’s international network. ANZ has had a presence here since 1993 and as the only Australian bank in Vietnam, we are uniquely placed to connect customers here with insights and expertise across our network.

“Sheng is the right person to lead our business in Vietnam, deepening our relationships with key Vietnamese corporate clients, as well as local and international banks and financial institutions,” Raciti said.

Lee joined ANZ in 2015 and will relocate to Ho Chi Minh City. He is expected to start his new position early next year after obtaining necessary regulatory and travel approvals.

Raciti also acknowledged the contributions of Mark Fitz-Gerald: “I’d like to thank Mark Fitz-Gerald for his contribution to ANZ over the past eight years. He has been a terrific leader and we wish him the best in the next chapter of his career.”

ANZ was among the first foreign banks established in Vietnam. The bank currently provides a range of services targeted at multinational corporations, large local companies, and financial institutions.
