Facebook has reintroduced its local jobs feature in the United States, aiming to make it easier for users to find and apply for employment opportunities within their communities. The platform is targeting entry-level, trade, and service industry positions that are visible to all adults aged 18 and older.
Job seekers can access listings through a dedicated tab in Facebook Marketplace. These job postings will also appear across relevant Groups and Pages. Users have the option to filter job listings by category, distance, and type on the Marketplace Jobs subtab.
Employers can create job posts via Marketplace, their business Page, or Meta Business Suite. "We want to make it easy for you to find local jobs and connect with your local community. These new features help you to quickly discover nearby opportunities and reach out to employers directly — all in one place. Whether you’re looking for part-time work, your first job, or people to hire, Facebook is here to help you take the next step," according to a statement from Facebook.
Applicants can contact employers directly using Messenger and research potential workplaces by visiting their Facebook Pages. Personalized recommendations will be provided based on each user's browsing history.
Some types of jobs are not eligible for listing on Facebook; further information is available on the platform's help pages.
