In response to the damage caused by Typhoon Ragasa in Hualien's Guangfu Township, Fubon Group and Fubon Financial Holding Co., Ltd. (Fubon FHC) have announced a joint donation of NT$20 million to support disaster relief and reconstruction efforts in the affected region. The typhoon led to significant flooding, power outages, road collapses, and extensive damage to homes and local infrastructure.

Daniel M. Tsai, Chairman of Fubon Group, emphasized the importance of both immediate and ongoing support for post-disaster recovery. "Post-disaster reconstruction is a long and arduous journey. It requires not only immediate assistance but also ongoing resource investment and supportive care." He stated that he would personally donate NT$10 million through the Rushi Social Welfare Public Trust Fund to organizations such as the Tzu Chi Foundation, Taiwan World Vision, Hualien County Police Department, and Fire Department. Fubon Construction, a subsidiary of the group, has mobilized disaster relief tools to aid frontline volunteers and those affected.

Richard M. Tsai, Chairman of Fubon Financial Holdings, expressed condolences to those impacted by the typhoon. "In the face of sudden natural disasters, which have caused significant loss of life and property, we feel deep sorrow and pain. We extend our sincere concern to the disaster-affected individuals and their families." He announced that Fubon Financial Holdings will donate NT$10 million to groups including Chiayi Charitable Organization, Mennonite Social Welfare Foundation, The Mustard Seed Mission, and Chinese Christian Relief Association.

Subsidiaries under Fubon Financial Holdings are providing targeted assistance:

Fubon Life is offering condolence payments for policyholders affected by the disaster: NT$100,000 for death, NT$50,000 for intensive care, and NT$10,000 for regular hospitalization. The company has also implemented measures such as a six-month extension on renewal premium payments due between August and December 2015 for affected policyholders and deferred interest on policy loans. Claims can be submitted via fax or mobile application with assistance from staff.

Taipei Fubon Bank has introduced relief measures for customers in government-designated disaster zones or those with official documentation of disaster impact. These include principal deferment plans on existing loans and a reconstruction loan program. Donations made through Financial Information Service Co., Ltd. to the Disaster Relief Foundation account at Land Bank's Changchun Branch will not incur interbank transfer fees.

Fubon Insurance activated its emergency response team to assist policyholders with claims guidance and expedited processing. Policyholders are advised not to start vehicles submerged in water above the underbody panel height to prevent further damage. Claims can be reported via multiple channels including an online platform or through agents.

Fubon Group stated its commitment to corporate social responsibility during this crisis and called on other sectors of society to join in supporting recovery efforts in Hualien.
