A demonstration is planned in Berlin on Saturday, October 11, to protest the war in Gaza. The march will begin in Mitte at Straße des 17. Juni, proceed west before turning north toward the area near the Bundestag, and conclude at Alexanderplatz. Organizers expect about 5,000 participants, but attendance could be higher.

The U.S. Embassy in Berlin has issued a demonstration alert for U.S. citizens and other residents in the city. According to the embassy, "A march in protest of the war in Gaza is scheduled for Saturday, October 11 in Mitte from 3-9PM. The protest may significantly affect traffic. Organizers of the demonstration expect a crowd of 5,000 participants but the event may be significantly larger."

The embassy advises individuals to avoid all demonstrations and protests, be aware of their surroundings, monitor local media, follow instructions from local authorities, and enroll in the Department of State’s Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP). According to embassy guidance: "STEP enrollment gives you the latest security updates and makes it easier for the U.S. Embassy to contact you in an emergency."

For emergency services, individuals can contact the U.S. Embassy Berlin at +49-30-8305-0 or email ACSBerlin@state.gov.
