U.S. citizens in Singapore have been advised to exercise increased caution due to the anniversary of the October 7, 2023 Hamas attacks in Israel. The U.S. Embassy in Singapore issued a security alert on October 7, 2025, recommending that Americans remain vigilant and maintain heightened situational awareness.

The embassy stated, "Due to the anniversary of the October 7, 2023 Hamas attacks in Israel and out of an abundance of caution, U.S. citizens are advised to remain vigilant, maintain heightened situational awareness, and practice good personal security measures."

Officials at the embassy said they will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as needed. The alert also included practical advice for Americans living or traveling in Singapore: "Be aware of your surroundings. Avoid all demonstrations and protests. Monitor local media. Follow the instructions of local authorities."

The embassy encouraged U.S. citizens to enroll in the Department of State’s Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP), which provides security updates and allows easier contact during emergencies: "Enroll in the Department of State’s Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP). STEP enrollment gives you the latest security updates and makes it easier for the U.S. Embassy to contact you in an emergency."
