UBS organized a roundtable event in Singapore on October 1, 2025, aimed at supporting young aspiring Formula 1 drivers. The session featured George Russell, Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team Driver and UBS Global Brand Ambassador, who met with local racing talents ahead of the F1 Singapore Grand Prix scheduled for October 3-5.

George Russell shared his experiences from his early start in racing and participation in the Mercedes Junior Programme. He stated: “Participating in the Singapore Grand Prix is a culmination of years of training. I started racing at an early age of 8 and was privileged to join the Mercedes Junior Programme. The biggest takeaway from the programme was how it gave me a chance to perform and fulfil my true potential. That is why I strongly believe in supporting the next generation of racers. It was great to meet Singapore’s young local racing talents at UBS’s exclusive dialogue session.”

Young Jin Yee, Co-Head UBS Global Wealth Management Asia Pacific and Country Head UBS Singapore, commented on the bank's involvement: “UBS is proud to support and inspire the next generation of racing talent in Singapore by offering them a unique opportunity to meet and engage with George Russell - Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team Driver and UBS Global Brand Ambassador. George embodies the pinnacle of professional racing and the values we share with Mercedes: relentless dedication, uncompromising standards, and a commitment to excellence and talent development. At our specially organized roundtable for young local racing talents, George shares his lessons from the track – from racing tips to a top performer’s mindset and philosophy. UBS is glad to be able to make a positive impact in today’s youth and we seek to continue to do so through our various community initiatives.”

UBS emphasized its commitment to talent development through initiatives such as its internal learning platform “UBS University” for employees, as well as partnerships with local organizations like the Institute of Banking and Finance and Workforce Singapore that offer new programs for graduates and mid-career professionals.

The partnership between UBS and Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team has been ongoing since 2011, during which time the team has won multiple world championships.

UBS operates globally as a wealth manager headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland, managing $6.1 trillion in invested assets as of late 2024.
