The U.S. Embassy in Islamabad and the U.S. Consulates General in Lahore, Karachi, and Peshawar are observing planned protest activities across Pakistan from October 3 to October 7, 2025. According to the embassy, these demonstrations are expected to draw large crowds and cause significant traffic congestion. Security measures will include an increased presence of law enforcement, more checkpoints, and possible disruptions to local mobile and internet networks.

The embassy noted that road closures or blockages may occur near protest sites, potentially leading to delays or detours for motorists. The length of these demonstrations is uncertain and they may extend late into the evening.

U.S. citizens in Pakistan have been advised by the embassy to avoid large gatherings and remain vigilant regarding their surroundings. The statement cautioned that "protests can be fluid in nature and even peaceful ones can turn violent." Additional guidance includes exercising caution if unexpectedly near a demonstration, reviewing personal security plans, monitoring local media for updates, keeping a low profile, carrying identification, and cooperating with police.

For assistance, contact information was provided for the U.S. Embassy in Islamabad as well as consulates in Karachi, Lahore, and Peshawar. The State Department’s Consular Affairs division also remains available for support through its hotline numbers.
