On October 1, 2025, Colombian authorities informed the International Monetary Fund (IMF) of their decision to cancel the two-year Flexible Credit Line (FCL) arrangement. The agreement, which was approved by the IMF’s Executive Board on April 26, 2024, allowed Colombia access to resources equivalent to SDR 6.1335 billion.

Colombia has been a member of the IMF since 1945 and currently holds a quota of SDR 2,044.50 million, which is approximately US$2.8 billion. The country's most recent Article IV consultation concluded on September 29, 2025.

Upon cancellation of the FCL arrangement, commitment fees will be refunded to Colombia as outlined in Rule I-8(C).
