Elias Baumann, Deputy Chief of Mission | U.S. Embassy in Cuba

Due to a lapse in appropriations, the U.S. Embassy in Cuba has announced that its website will not be updated regularly until full operations resume. Only urgent safety and security information will be posted during this period.

The embassy stated, "Due to the lapse in appropriations, this website will not be updated regularly until full operations resume, with the exception of urgent safety and security information."

Despite the interruption, scheduled passport and visa services both within the United States and at U.S. embassies and consulates overseas are expected to continue as circumstances allow. The embassy noted, "At this time, scheduled passport and visas services in the United States and at U.S. Embassies and Consulates overseas will continue during the lapse in appropriations as the situation permits. We will not update this account until full operations resume, with the exception of urgent safety and security information. For information on our services and operating status, visit travel.state.gov."

Members of the public seeking updates or details about consular services are directed to consult travel.state.gov for current service status.
