Santander has been named to Fortune Magazine’s ‘Change the World’ list for the third consecutive year, recognized for its efforts in education, entrepreneurship, and employability. The list highlights companies that create positive social impact as part of their core business strategy.

According to Fortune, Santander earned its place on the list due to global initiatives such as the Santander Open Academy platform. In 2024, the bank invested €103.8 million and supported more than 2.2 million people and businesses through these programs.

Over nearly three decades, Santander has partnered with almost 1,100 universities and invested over €2.4 billion in support of education, employability, and entrepreneurship.

The bank recently released the Tomorrow's Skills report. This report indicates that developing new skillsets is becoming increasingly important in today’s work environment. Santander addresses this need through its Open Academy platform, which provides free access to courses and content from leading universities and institutions worldwide.

Ana Botín, Group Executive Chair at Santander Group, stated: "Our mission is to help people and businesses prosper. Through initiatives like Santander Open Academy we are committed to providing opportunities for individuals everywhere to gain new skills and improve their employability."

The Open Academy platform offers a range of e-learning resources designed to enhance job prospects globally by giving users access to expert-led content and scholarship opportunities.
