Samsung Electronics has announced the addition of 15 new artworks from Tate to its Samsung Art Store, expanding its collection of modern and contemporary art. This development builds on existing collaborations with institutions such as the Art Institute of Chicago, the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), and Thyssen-Bornemisza National Museum.
The new works include pieces by artists like Henri Matisse, Salvador Dalí, Mark Rothko, Roy Lichtenstein—who is the first pop art artist featured on the platform—as well as Peter Doig and Beatriz Milhazes. Highlights from this selection feature Roy Lichtenstein’s “Whaam!”, Henri Matisse’s “The Snail,” and Jackson Pollock’s “Yellow Islands.” The collection also presents British painter Howard Hodgkin alongside Peter Doig’s “Echo Lake” and “Ski Jacket.”
According to Samsung, this expansion supports their aim to make museum-quality art accessible in homes worldwide. "Samsung Art Store is dedicated to providing people with the opportunity to experience world-class art in the comfort of their living rooms," said Heeyeong Ahn, Vice President of the Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics. "By expanding our offerings to pieces from Tate, we are taking another step in supporting the irreplaceable experience of seeing art in person."
The updated collection will be available across Samsung's 2025 TV lineup, including QLED TVs and The Frame series. The Frame Pro model features an upgraded Neo QLED screen for improved color and contrast, a Wireless One Connect Box for easier installation up to 30 feet away, an Anti-Reflection Matte Display for realistic viewing conditions, and customizable bezels.
