Amazon customers in Spain now have the option to pay for purchases in installments through Zinia, Santander's consumer financing platform. The new service allows payments to be deferred on purchases over 60 euros for periods ranging from four to forty months.
This marks the first time Zinia is available in Spain, following its previous expansion into Germany and Austria. The gradual rollout will see Amazon customers in Spain able to choose this payment method for purchases between 60 and 3,000 euros.
Customers can use their Spanish ID (DNI) or Foreign Identification Number (NIE), along with a credit or debit card or bank account details, to set up direct debit payments. The process is completed online via Amazon’s website or app and does not require opening a permanent line of credit. This approach provides users with more control over their spending and relies on Grupo Santander’s financial security measures.
Zinia was launched in 2022 as part of Santander Consumer Finance’s broader international strategy to offer installment payment solutions. In Germany and Austria, Zinia already works with Amazon and other partners to provide similar services.
