The U.S. Embassy in Yaoundé has announced an online auction for several high-value items, including used furniture, appliances, water pumps, and mattresses. The auction will be conducted through an online platform at https://tinyurl.com/Yaoundeauctionoct25.

To participate, bidders are required to create an account and register online. Items can currently be viewed on the website. Bidding opens on Friday, October 3rd at 10:00 and will close on Monday, October 6th at 09:00 when winners are announced.

In-person viewing of the items is available by appointment only at the U.S. Embassy in Yaoundé on Thursday, October 2nd.

According to the embassy's announcement, "Bid price does NOT include taxes, fees, or customs duty. ALL sales are final, and items are sold AS-IS, without refund or warranty by the US government. Payment for winning bids must be made in cash (CFA) within 2 business days following the end of the auction. The winning bidder is required to pay customs duty and any related taxes to the Cameroonian authorities before removing the property from the embassy compound."

Buyers must collect their purchases from the embassy no later than one week after payment is made. Failure to pick up items within this timeframe will result in forfeiture of both property and payment.
