Sustainability leaders recognized at annual awards organized by UOB

Eleven individuals and organizations were honored for their achievements in sustainable development at the 2025 Sustainability Impact Awards, held on September 25, 2025. The event was organized by The Business Times and United Overseas Bank (UOB) and took place at Pan Pacific Orchard in Singapore. Mr Chee Hong Tat, Minister for National Development, served as Guest-of-Honour.

The awards recognize those who have shown leadership in creating sustainability impact within Singapore. Keppel Ltd received the Impact Enterprise of the Year award in the Large Enterprise category for its efforts related to climate change and renewable energy. The company has started clean energy import projects and developed Singapore’s first hydrogen-compatible power plant.

Other recipients in the Large Enterprise category included ComfortDelGro Corporation Limited, FairPrice Group, The Ascott Limited, and UOL Group-Pan Pacific Hotels Group (UOL-PPHG), all receiving the Impact Enterprise Excellence Award for their work in sustainability.

In the Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) category, Pollen Tech and WeavInsight Pte Ltd were recognized with the Impact Enterprise Excellence Award. Pollen Tech operates Asia’s first excess inventory liquidation system aimed at reducing waste by helping brands recover costs from surplus inventory. WeavInsight Pte Ltd has implemented initiatives to lower energy use in buildings and support access to sustainable financing.

In the Individual category, Mr Bjorn Low of Edible Garden City and Prof Lily Kong of Singapore Management University were named Impact Leaders of the Year. Mr Low has promoted urban agriculture through more than 280 urban farming installations and represented Singapore internationally. Prof Kong advocated for mandatory sustainability education at SMU and contributed to establishing both the Singapore Green Finance Centre and SMU Urban Institute.

The Individual Excellence Award went to Ms Beh Siew Kim from CapitaLand Investment/The Ascott Limited and Mr Jeremy Lee from SimplyGood.
