Representatives from the Government of Serbia, including Foreign Minister Djuric, gathered with members of the U.S.-Serbia Friendship Congress and business leaders to discuss the future of relations between the United States and Serbia. The event was marked by a speech addressing opportunities for cooperation and a commitment to building stronger ties.

The speaker thanked attendees for their ongoing efforts to strengthen dialogue and cooperation between the two countries, stating that such dedication is crucial in deepening bilateral relations. "I deeply appreciate the effort by the organizers of this event and many of you in attendance who have made great strides to strengthen and promote the U.S.-Serbia relationship through dialogue and cooperation. Your dedication plays a pivotal role in strengthening bilateral ties between our nations."

Emphasizing a forward-looking approach, it was noted that both nations are entering a new phase defined by collaborative construction rather than past divisions. "We are standing at the threshold of a new era in the U.S.-Serbia relationship – an era defined not by what lies behind us, but by what we choose to build together.  President Trump and his Administration are committed to reinvigorating the U.S.-Serbia relationship, to increasing economic and business ties between our countries, and to engaging in political dialogue based on common interests and values."

A call was made for unity around regional stability as a foundation for further progress across economic, political, and social areas. The speaker highlighted historical ties extending back over 100 years while stressing that current efforts should focus on present opportunities rather than past differences.

Plans were announced for launching a Strategic Dialogue between Serbia and the United States. This initiative aims to address key issues such as access to advanced energy technologies, defense cooperation in a complex global environment, and building mutually beneficial connections.

"Let me be clear: this new era is only possible if we are united in our commitment to regional stability. That is the foundation on which all progress depends – economic, political, and social. We want to work with Serbia and its neighbors to promote economic partnerships and open markets – big goals that we cannot achieve if we allow other voices to distract us. We cannot let differences from the recent past prevent us from building a brighter future. And we should not let selective readings of history prevent us from cooperating to build a better future together. When it comes to history, I am focused on the mutually beneficial ties between our two great nations stretching back well over 100 years."

"Soon, our two countries will launch a Strategic Dialogue rooted in honesty, respect, and shared interest. The fact that we are elevating our relationship to this level is itself a testament to the progress we have made in U.S.-Serbia cooperation and the optimism we have for the future."

"I expect our discussions will focus on the most significant and strategic issues that the United States and Serbia face together:

from ensuring Serbia has access to the most advanced energy and communications technology the market has to offer,

to expanding our defense relationship in an increasingly complicated global environment, and,

to ensuring we build the kind of mutually beneficial ties that are so important to our future."

The remarks underscored practical realism as guiding policy: "Our evolving relationship is grounded in practical realism. The United States is no longer in the business of remaking societies to fit a mold. We are here to work with countries that are committed to their own future. And I believe Serbia wants a better, more stable, and more prosperous future."

Upcoming events were mentioned as opportunities for continued partnership—including activities at Lozionica’s American Resource Center; celebrations marking 250 years since America’s founding; as well as EXPO 2027 being hosted in Serbia.

"There will be many opportunities to work together toward this shared goal in the coming months and years: through our new American Resource Center at Lozionica, next year’s celebration of the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States, and of course during EXPO 2027, when all the world will visit Serbia. Each of these key events is an opportunity to show that this relationship is becoming a true partnership, and that we are focused on the future."

In closing remarks directed toward next year’s anniversary commemorations: "Let me close by looking ahead. As I said, next year marks the 250th anniversary of American independence.  It will be a time of reflection and celebration for us, and we invite our Serbian friends to be part of commemorative festivities... Americans are optimistic...we sincerely believe that best days of U.S.–Serbia relations also are ahead..."

"Thank you for your dedication, your leadership, and your partnership."
