Ray-Ban Meta has introduced the second generation of its smart glasses, which now offer improved battery life and upgraded video capabilities. The company reports that the new Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 2) glasses can last up to eight hours on a full charge, nearly double the battery life of the previous model. The glasses also come with a charging case providing an additional 48 hours of use.
The updated device includes enhanced video features, such as 3K Ultra HD video capture at up to 60 frames per second and ultrawide HDR. These upgrades provide sharper and more vivid videos compared to the earlier version. Later in the year, users will receive software updates enabling hyperlapse and slow-motion capture modes across all AI glasses in this line.
At Connect, Meta announced a forthcoming feature called conversation focus. According to the company, "Conversation focus uses the glasses’ open-ear speakers to amplify the voice of the person you’re talking to, helping distinguish it from ambient background noise in cafes and restaurants, parks, and other busy places." This feature will be delivered as a software update for both Ray-Ban Meta and Oakley Meta HSTN glasses.
Live translation support is expanding with German and Portuguese added today. Soon, users will be able to have conversations between six languages even while in airplane mode if they download language packs ahead of time.
Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 2) is also being released in new markets including Switzerland and the Netherlands, with plans for availability in Brazil soon. The glasses are offered in various frame styles such as Wayfarer, Skyler, Headliner, and three limited-time seasonal colors.
Ray-Ban Meta states that their product has become "the #1 selling AI glasses in the world," citing IDC historical sales data as of July 2025.
The starting price for Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 2) is $379 USD.
