Morgan Stanley Investment Management (MSIM) has launched two new online education centers aimed at supporting financial advisors with resources in investment tax management and alternative investments. The Tax Forward Investing Center and the Alternatives Investing Center are designed to provide continuing education courses, insights, short videos, and access to tools.
Rui de Figueiredo, Ph. D., Global Head of Investment and Client Solutions and CIO of the Solutions and Multi Asset Group for MSIM, said, “Our commitment to advisor education has been a driving force and cornerstone of our business for decades. The Tax Forward and Alternatives Investing Centers showcase the depth of knowledge available across our business and distill key facts, techniques and methods for understanding these two complex investment areas so that advisors can address sophisticated client needs.”
The Tax Forward Investing Center offers detailed educational content on investment tax management. It helps advisors understand various strategies for managing clients’ tax situations with the goal of maximizing after-tax outcomes. The center’s curriculum covers topics such as tax deferral, vehicle selection, charitable giving, and concentrated wealth. This initiative follows MSIM’s earlier rollout of its Tax Optimized Portfolio Solutions (TOPS) tool, which provides tailored tax management strategies using expertise from its Wealth Strategies Group.
The Alternatives Investing Center is structured to guide advisors through alternative investment options and portfolio construction strategies. With over 30 years of experience in alternatives investing, MSIM brings a background recognized for innovation in this sector.
Matt Witkos, Head of North America Intermediary Sales at MSIM, stated, “MSIM prioritizes supporting financial advisors with the right mix of expert insights, investment solutions, tools and vehicles that differentiate and elevate the experience they provide to clients. Our continuing education program recognizes the evolving investment landscape and pulls together leading resources to meet an industry need for clear, actionable training that focuses on areas of the marketplace that present unique challenges for investors and the advisors that serve them.”
The new programs are accessible online to all interested participants. Advisors attending certain sessions may earn continuing education credits. Initial live streaming courses will focus on foundational topics in tax management in late September followed by asset allocation strategies in early October. Additional modules will be released regularly.
