Chargé d’Affaires, Abigail L. Dressel | U.S. Embassy in Mozambique

The U.S. Embassy in Maputo is organizing a town hall meeting for American citizens on Tuesday, September 30, 2025. The event aims to introduce the Embassy’s new Chargé d’Affaires, Abigail L. Dressel, and inform attendees about services available to U.S. citizens, emergency preparedness measures, the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP), and the citizen volunteer liaison program.

For security reasons, the specific time and location of the event will be provided to confirmed participants 24 hours before it takes place. Attendance at the embassy will be limited due to space constraints. If there is sufficient interest, the embassy plans to broadcast the town hall live through Zoom or a similar online platform.

Those interested in attending must email MaputoUSCitizens@state.gov by Friday, September 19, 2025. The required information includes full name as listed on government-issued identification, date of birth in mm/dd/yyyy format, type of identification (such as passport or national ID card), country of issuance, document number, relationship to an immediate relative who is a U.S. citizen residing in Mozambique (for non-U.S. citizens), and local phone number.

Admission tickets will be sent via email before the event. Attendees are required to present both their ticket and a U.S. passport for themselves or their immediate relation upon entry.

"We look forward to meeting you!"
