Santander receives recognition as best retail bank in Portugal

Santander has been recognized as the "Best Retail Bank" in Portugal by World Finance magazine. The award is based on criteria such as leadership, innovation, and the ability to grow in challenging conditions. According to the magazine, "these institutions are setting the standards for responsible growth and rethinking the future of global banking".

The bank's recent performance shows an increase in both active and digital customers. Santander added 71,000 active customers, reaching a total of 1.91 million, and gained 80,000 new digital customers for a total of 1.28 million.

World Finance also noted Santander's multiple customer channels, its focus on customer needs, and its innovative products and services built on loyalty and trust. The magazine stated: "This approach, combined with strong performance, places Santander at the forefront of retail banking in Portugal and as a benchmark of excellence in the financial system".

Earlier this year, Santander was named "Best Bank in Portugal" by a US magazine.
