ANZ has announced that Anshul Sidher has stepped down from his position as Managing Director, Markets, effective immediately. Sidher leaves the bank after 13 years to pursue other opportunities. He previously led ANZ’s Global Trading team before being appointed to head the global Markets business in August 2023.
Mark Whelan, ANZ Group Executive, Institutional, commented on Sidher’s departure: “I want to thank Anshul for his contribution to ANZ over the past 13 years. During this time ANZ’s Markets business has grown to help customers navigate dynamic conditions across local and global markets.
“I wish Anshul well as he moves on to new opportunities,” Mr Whelan said.
In the interim, Michael Peric, currently Global Head of Balance Sheet Trading at ANZ, and Trevor Vail, Head of Markets for Australia, will jointly lead the Markets business while a search is conducted for a new Managing Director. Peric will remain based in Sydney and continue overseeing Balance Sheet trading operations. Vail will be based in Singapore and manage franchise Global Sales and Trading.
Both Peric and Vail are joining ANZ’s Institutional Leadership Team and will report directly to Mark Whelan.
Mr Whelan added: “Michael and Trevor bring a strong foundation of knowledge and leadership to this role, and together they will provide continuity and stabilty for our Markets business during this period of transition.”
