Barclays has announced two senior leadership appointments within its Private Bank and Wealth Management (PBWM) UK and Crown Dependencies businesses. The bank stated that these changes are intended to strengthen its focus on delivering investment solutions that are accessible, intuitive, and tailored to clients.

Sid Azad will take on the role of Head of Mass Affluent and Growth. In this position, he will oversee the unified Mass Affluent franchise and help shape growth strategies across PBWM UK and the Crown Dependencies. Azad brings more than 20 years of experience in global financial services, having most recently served as a Partner at McKinsey & Company where he co-led the European Wealth & Asset Management practice. His background includes advising banks, insurers, and wealth managers on digital transformation, strategy development, and operating model redesign with an emphasis on technology-driven innovation.

In addition to Azad’s appointment, Barclays announced a leadership transition in the Crown Dependencies. Nick May will become Head of Crown Dependencies in November after Paul Savery retires. May rejoined Barclays in August 2024 and is currently Global Head of the Fiduciaries business. He has held senior positions at HSBC, including Head of Europe and International as well as Head of Channel Islands Private Banking.

Mo Syed commented on the appointments: “These changes reflect our continued investment in leadership that drives innovation. I’m delighted to welcome Sid and Nick to the team, and confident that their experience and vision will help us deliver differentiated client experiences. I also want to extend my heartfelt thanks to Paul for his remarkable service and stewardship over the past four decades.”
