Morgan Stanley has marked the 25th anniversary of its Glasgow office, highlighting a quarter-century of operations and partnership in Scotland. The firm hosted several events throughout the year to commemorate the milestone, including a drinks reception with Scottish Financial Enterprise (SFE). The event was attended by First Minister John Swinney, SFE CEO Sandy Begbie, and Vida Rudkin, Head of Morgan Stanley Glasgow.

As part of the celebrations, Morgan Stanley unveiled a bespoke tartan created in collaboration with The House of Edgar. The new tartan incorporates brand colours and design elements that reference both the 25th anniversary of the Glasgow office and the firm's 90th global anniversary. It features a 25-thread blackstripe and two blocks of blue totalling 90 threads. Six colours are included to represent the original number of employees at the Glasgow location.

The tartan will also be showcased at an upcoming reception at Glasgow City Chambers on September 25. This event is hosted by the Leader of the Council in partnership with Glasgow City Council and the Glasgow Chamber of Commerce. The date aligns with Glasgow’s own 850th anniversary as a city.

“Celebrating 25 years in Glasgow is a proud moment for Morgan Stanley. Since we opened our office with six colleagues in 2000, it has grown into one of our most important centres in EMEA, with over 2,000 people serving clients and businesses across our global network. We’re deeply grateful to the talented individuals in Glasgow whose contributions continue to help strengthen our firm,” said Clare Woodman, Head of EMEA, Latin America and Canada & CEO of Morgan Stanley International.

Since opening in 2000, Morgan Stanley’s Glasgow office has become one of its largest European locations. It supports various global functions such as technology, finance, operations, legal, and compliance. The office is active in community engagement through support for local charities, educational programs, and sustainability initiatives.

“Morgan Stanley is proud to call Glasgow its home. We’ve benefitted enormously from the exceptional talent in Scotland — without it, the Glasgow office wouldn’t be the success it is today. Commissioning a tartan felt like a uniquely Scottish way to celebrate our journey — one that recognises our people, our culture, and our deep connection to this city,” said Vida Rudkin, Head of Morgan Stanley Glasgow.
