Swansea University, in collaboration with the National Waterfront Museum, will host the Swansea Science Festival on October 25 and 26. The event is scheduled to take place at the National Waterfront Museum and will feature a variety of science-themed activities for attendees of all ages.
The festival’s program includes presentations by wildlife presenters and filmmakers Lizzie Daly and Hamza Yassin, who will share stories from their experiences in the natural world. Other highlights include the Bubbles and Balloons show, Superhero Scientists performances, and a range of talks and demonstrations covering topics such as engineering advances, medical maggots, and the science behind everyday items like sweets and beer.
Visitors can also participate in free drop-in activities and explore interactive exhibits throughout the museum during the weekend.
Since its inception in 2016, the Swansea Science Festival has drawn more than 10,000 visitors annually, establishing itself as a regular part of Swansea’s cultural events.
Professor Helen Griffiths, Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Research and Innovation at Swansea University, said: "Since 2016, the Swansea Science Festival has been a key event for the city, one that brings the community together with our academics and researchers through a shared love of science. We look forward to welcoming everyone in person for what promises to be an unmissable celebration of science for all ages."
