Samsung Electronics has announced that its Bespoke AI Jet Bot Steam Ultra robot vacuum cleaner and Bespoke AI Refrigerator have received the BSI IT Security Label. This recognition comes after a mutual recognition arrangement (MRA) was signed between the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) and Germany’s Federal Office for Information Security (BSI).
The MRA allows for cybersecurity evaluation results to be recognized in both countries, helping companies enter new markets more efficiently while maintaining trust in product security. Samsung products that meet KISA’s Certification of IoT Cybersecurity (CIC) can now also receive recognition under BSI’s labelling system.
“We are honored to be the first to be mutually-recognized under the Korea-Germany MRA,” said Jeong Seung Moon, Executive Vice President and Head of the R&D Team for the Digital Appliances Business at Samsung Electronics. “We will continue to prioritize robust IoT security so that users can enjoy the convenience of AI-powered home appliances with greater confidence.”
A ceremony marking both the official signing of the MRA and the labeling of these products took place at IFA 2025 in Berlin, with representatives from BSI, KISA, and Samsung Digital Appliances present.
CIC evaluates smart devices such as robot vacuums, smart home cameras, and connected appliances. Products are rated as Lite, Basic, or Standard depending on their resistance to digital threats. Last year, Samsung became the first company to earn CIC’s highest “Standard” grade for its robot vacuum cleaner model VR7MD97716G and remains the only brand holding this grade.
The newly launched robot vacuum cleaner models VR90F01EBG/WD and VR90F01SAG as well as refrigerator models RM90F67CECEF, RM90F91D1W, and RM90F91B1W recently achieved this “Standard” grade. This designation is given to devices capable of resisting advanced hacking attempts.
Both product lines include enhanced security technologies such as Samsung Knox to protect against malware and external threats. These features support safer use of AI functionalities like AI Object Recognition in the Bespoke AI Jet Bot Steam Ultra and SmartThings connectivity across devices.
Samsung presented these products along with other advancements in artificial intelligence and connected home technology at IFA 2025 in Berlin.
