CDC adds Bangladesh to Level 2 health notice for Chikungunya precautions

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has added Bangladesh to its Level 2 – Practice Enhanced Precautions Traveler’s Health Notice for Chikungunya in the Indian Ocean region. The CDC advises travelers to take extra precautions due to the presence of the mosquito-borne disease. Further details are available on the CDC’s Chikungunya webpage.

Travelers are encouraged to visit the CDC Travelers Health Page for up-to-date information. Those experiencing warning signs or symptoms of illness should consult a medical provider. The U.S. Embassy in Dhaka recommends checking with travel insurance providers about medical evacuation options if illness occurs while abroad.
