Macquarie Asset Management has announced an agreement to acquire a 40 percent stake in Luz Saúde, a prominent healthcare group in Portugal, for about €310 million. The investment will be made through Macquarie European Infrastructure Fund 7. Fidelidade, the leading insurance company in Portugal, will continue to hold a 60 percent stake in Luz Saúde.
Luz Saúde operates 14 private hospitals, 15 outpatient clinics, and one senior residential facility across Portugal. Its network provides specialized and complex clinical services covering more than 65 medical specialties and employs over 5,300 doctors.
Macquarie Asset Management plans to support Luz Saúde’s growth nationwide and focus on attracting top medical professionals while enhancing patient care quality. The firm also intends to invest in technology and digitalization within Luz Saúde’s operations to improve outcomes for patients.

The transaction is expected to close by the fourth quarter of 2025 pending customary closing conditions.
