Movement restrictions will be in effect across Bolivia on Sunday, September 7, 2025, for National Pedestrian and Cyclist Day. The annual event takes place on the first Sunday of September.

According to a message from the U.S. Embassy in La Paz, there will be no private or public transportation available between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. on that day. Vehicles are not permitted to circulate unless they have explicit authorization from the Bolivian government.

Domestic and international flights are expected to operate as usual during the restriction period. However, U.S. citizens traveling by air are advised to confirm ground transportation options with their airline or airport.

The embassy has issued guidance for U.S. citizens in Bolivia: "Obey National Pedestrian and Cyclist Day movement restrictions. Monitor local media for updates."

For assistance, U.S. citizens can contact the U.S. Embassy in La Paz at +(591) (2) 216-8000 or +(591) (2) 216-8500 after hours, or email ConsularLaPazACS@state.gov. Additional information is available on the embassy’s website at https://bo.usembassy.gov.
