The United States Embassy in Nassau, The Bahamas, has announced a solicitation for the purchase of a new vehicle. The embassy is seeking bids from interested parties to supply a full-size, four-door, conventional gas SUV. The vehicle must be brand new, model year 2025 or newer, and available within 30 days or sooner.
Bidders are required to submit their proposals by the close of business on September 22, 2025. Quotes should include all freight and landing charges to Nassau, The Bahamas. Additionally, bidders must have a service provider in Nassau that can sell parts and honor the warranty for the vehicle.
According to the requirements outlined by the embassy, the SUV must feature all-wheel drive or four-wheel drive, air conditioning in both front and rear sections, at least a four-cylinder engine or greater, and seating capacity for a minimum of seven passengers—eight is preferred. Additional features include Bluetooth connectivity, backup camera, parking sensors, push button start, rearview camera, variable intermittent windshield wipers, power windows/locks/doors/mirrors/keyless entry system, ABS brake assist with traction control, electronic stability control (ESC) where standard or optional equipment applies, driver and front passenger airbags as well as appropriate seat belts for all seating positions.
The embassy also requires that at least the first three scheduled maintenance visits be included at no additional cost. Preference will be given to vehicles in darker shades such as gray, black or blue. Parts must be available through a local dealer in Nassau.
The winning bidder will receive shipping instructions to ensure duty-free importation of the vehicle and quotes should reflect duty and VAT free pricing.
