The United States has allocated more than 10 million Pula for the construction of a new clinic in Seronga, Botswana. The project was launched with a groundbreaking ceremony attended by U.S. Ambassador Howard Van Vranken, Botswana's Assistant Ministry of Health Honorable Lawrence Ookeditse, and Member of Parliament for Okavango East District, Honorable Gabatsholwe Disho.
The Seronga Clinic is designed to prioritize maternity care services. Organizers say the facility aims to improve healthcare access for mothers and contribute to family stability and community well-being.
At the event, Ambassador Van Vranken stated, “This groundbreaking is more than the start of a building—it is the continuation of a partnership rooted in people, health, and dignity.”
Officials from both countries highlighted that this investment represents ongoing collaboration between Botswana and the United States to support local health infrastructure.
