Toyota Motor Europe (TME) recently highlighted its commitment to inclusive mobility during the UCI World Para-Cycling Championships. The company, which manages wholesale sales and marketing for Toyota, GR (Gazoo Racing), and Lexus vehicles in Europe, also oversees manufacturing and engineering operations across the continent.
TME employs more than 26,000 people and has invested over 12 billion euros in Europe since 1990. Its eight manufacturing plants are located in Portugal, the UK, France, Poland, Czech Republic, and Turkey. Currently, about 14.7 million Toyota and Lexus vehicles are on European roads. These drivers are supported by a network of 28 National Marketing and Sales Companies and approximately 2,800 retail outlets in 53 countries.
In 2024, TME sold over 1.2 million vehicles in Europe, achieving a market share of 7.1%. More information about the company can be found at www.toyota-europe.com.
Toyota's approach is guided by the belief that "when people are free to move, anything is possible." The company aims for "Mobility for All" by focusing on safer, more connected, inclusive, and sustainable transportation options as part of its mission to produce “Happiness for All.” In Europe specifically, TME launched the KINTO mobility brand offering various services in 20 countries and is expanding business-to-business sales of zero-emission fuel cell products along with engineering support.
The company also aligns its efforts with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals by working toward carbon neutrality across all its European operations. As a longstanding leader in CO2 reduction within Europe, TME has set a target to achieve complete CO2 reduction in all new vehicles sold in Western Europe by 2035. It continues to provide customers with a range of electrified powertrains including hybrid, plug-in hybrid, battery electric, and fuel cell electric vehicles.
"TME aims to achieve 100% CO2 reduction in all new vehicles in Western Europe by 2035 and will continue to offer a full range of electrified powertrains to customers across the region with its hybrid, plug-in hybrid, battery and fuel cell electric vehicles."
