At IFA 2025, Samsung Electronics presented its vision for “AI Home: Future Living, Now,” highlighting how artificial intelligence is being integrated into daily living. The company’s AI Home aims to provide a practical and accessible smart home experience for a broad range of users.
“At Samsung, we’re not just imagining the future of AI; we’re building it into everyday life. Samsung’s AI Home moves beyond smart devices to homes that truly understand you, adapt to your needs and care for what matters most,” said Cheolgi Kim (CK), Executive Vice President and Head of Digital Appliances (DA) Business. “This is the beginning of a new era — where technology supports your life in the background so that you can live it more fully.”
Samsung states that its AI Home system is intended to improve convenience, efficiency, health, and safety within households. According to research conducted by Samsung, 66% of consumers find an AI-enabled home appealing. Many respondents expect such technology to streamline daily tasks and offer enhanced control through mobile or voice commands. With SmartThings automated routines, users can automate lighting, temperature control, and synchronize blinds with weather conditions.
The company notes that most people consider their home both a sanctuary and a social hub. To address these needs, AI Home includes features like wellness checks, personalized sleep settings, and nutrition planning.
Energy efficiency is another focus area for Samsung’s AI Home. Two-thirds of surveyed consumers believe that an AI-enabled home could help monitor costs and save money. The SmartThings Energy platform allows the system to reduce washing machine energy use by up to 70%, according to Samsung’s internal tests (https://www.samsung.com/uk/home-appliances/smartthings/energy/#energy). These savings are based on specific usage scenarios involving certain washing temperatures and models.
Security remains important for users as well; 40% expect AI technology to enhance home protection through timely alerts. For data security, Samsung employs Knox Vault at the hardware level and extends protection across devices with Knox Matrix (see: Knox Vault | Fundamentals | Samsung Knox Documentation).
The latest Bespoke AI appliances from Samsung incorporate advanced features designed to improve experiences in kitchens and other areas of the home.
Samsung also introduced its Vision AI Companion—a tool meant to act as a natural interface for users—while emphasizing partnerships with global technology companies such as Google, Microsoft, and Perplexity.
Other developments include efforts by Samsung Galaxy to expand access to Galaxy AI features across more than 200 million devices in 2024. By the end of 2025, the company plans to bring these capabilities to over 400 million devices worldwide.
During IFA 2025 in Berlin from September 5–9 at CityCube Berlin, visitors can view these innovations firsthand. In addition, Samsung collaborated with digital artist Maotik on a large-scale media art installation displayed on a 50-meter-wide digital façade at the exhibition entrance. The video piece uses data-driven visuals themed around “wind” as a metaphor for how Samsung’s AI technologies contribute to everyday life enhancements.
