Everest Reinsurance, the reinsurance arm of Everest Group, Ltd. (NYSE: EG), has announced the appointment of Jiten Voralia as Chief Underwriting Officer for Global Reinsurance. The move is effective immediately and follows the promotion of Chris Downey to EVP and Group CUO. Voralia will report to Jill Beggs, who serves as EVP and CEO of Reinsurance.

Jill Beggs commented on the appointment: “Jiten is an exceptional leader, with a wealth of experience across the global reinsurance market and a demonstrated record of portfolio optimization.”

Beggs further stated, “Jiten has already made significant contributions to Everest, optimizing our North America portfolio for profitable growth. His technical acumen, strong relationships and proven cross-cycle underwriting expertise make him the ideal leader to guide our underwriting strategy and continue delivering exceptional value to our customers and trading partners over the long-term.”

Voralia joined Everest in 2022 and most recently served as Head of North America Treaty Reinsurance. In that role, he led efforts to grow the company’s portfolio profitably across markets including the U.S., Bermuda, and Canada. Before joining Everest, Voralia held various leadership positions at Swiss Re covering regions such as the US, Australia and New Zealand, and Asia Pacific. He also previously worked as an actuary at Benfield in London and Sydney as well as PwC in London. Voralia holds a Master of Science in Mathematics with First Class Honors from Imperial College London.

Voralia will continue his responsibilities as Head of North America Treaty Reinsurance until a successor is named.
