U.S. Special Envoy for Global Partnerships Ambassador Paolo Zampolli visited Tashkent, Uzbekistan from August 28 to September 1, meeting with senior Uzbek officials as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen bilateral relations between the United States and Uzbekistan.

During his visit, Ambassador Zampolli met with President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and delivered President Donald J. Trump’s greetings along with congratulations for Uzbekistan’s Independence Day. The discussions focused on ways to expand the strategic partnership between the two countries. Both leaders acknowledged progress in political dialogue and parliamentary exchanges and noted preparations underway for the first Expanded Strategic Partnership Dialogue scheduled for autumn.

Ambassador Zampolli also met with Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov. In their talks, he emphasized America’s commitment to supporting Uzbekistan’s independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. The two sides reiterated their focus on improving regional connectivity, addressing transnational threats, and increasing cultural and educational cooperation.
