Paolo Zampolli, the U.S. Special Envoy for Global Partnerships, arrived in Uzbekistan on August 28, 2025, marking his first official overseas visit in this role.
According to the U.S. Embassy in Uzbekistan, Zampolli’s trip is focused on strengthening America’s global partnerships and advancing President Trump’s approach to diplomacy. The envoy aims to promote American values and build lasting relationships that support U.S. diplomatic efforts.
“Special Envoy Zampolli is advancing President Trump’s bold vision of strengthening America’s global partnerships. His mission is clear: to champion American excellence, promote the values that make the United States the greatest nation on Earth, and build enduring ties that sustain the strength and vitality of U.S. diplomacy. Special Envoy Zampolli looks forward to forging new relationships with Uzbekistan’s cultural leaders and institutions to highlight America’s unmatched creativity, vision, and leadership,” stated the embassy.
During his visit, Zampolli will participate in celebrations for Uzbekistan’s Independence Day alongside President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. He will also join U.S. Ambassador Jonathan Henick at the opening of the American Corner Tashkent—a new center dedicated to learning about American culture and values.
In addition to these events, Zampolli plans meetings with Uzbek Olympic medalists and will welcome Uzbekistan's National Football Team ahead of their participation in the 2026 FIFA World Cup hosted by the United States.
