The asphalt paving work for the steel deck of the Huajiang Grand Canyon Bridge in Guizhou province has been completed. The bridge, which is under construction, is set to become the world’s highest. For this project, casting modified asphalt and high-viscosity and high-elasticity modified asphalt were used. Both types were made with new SBS products developed by Sinopec.
According to the company, using these new SBS products in the production of modified asphalt can improve waterproof performance and flexibility for bridge decks. This improvement is expected to enhance the overall stability of the bridge.
Sinopec described this as a breakthrough for its SBS products in high-end infrastructure projects.
