The U.S. Embassy in Banjul has issued a request for quotations (RFQ) seeking qualified vendors to supply and install a backup power system for its radio and telephone communications. The embassy aims to ensure reliable communications by installing new equipment that will provide backup power in case of outages.
According to the announcement, interested vendors must submit their proposals by September 12, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. GMT. Proposals should be sent via email to banjulgsoprocurement@state.gov and can be submitted in MS Word, MS Excel, or PDF formats, with each email not exceeding 30MB. All submissions must be in English.
The scope of work includes the provision and installation of three 20kW wall-mounted lithium-ion batteries with accessories and three 30kW wall-mounted hybrid inverters with accessories. Vendors are also required to handle complete installation, grounding, commissioning, as well as provide a battery management system and overcurrent protection. A 12-month warranty covering preventive maintenance and emergency support is also required.
A service level agreement (SLA) mandates a minimum uptime of 99.9% for the system, technical support within two hours, and monthly payments made via electronic funds transfer (EFT).
The embassy states: "The contract will be awarded to the responsible company offering a technically acceptable proposal at the lowest evaluated price."
