The U.S. Embassy in Nassau, Bahamas has announced it will be moving to a new location at 235 Shirley Street. As a result, the embassy will be closed to the public from August 26 through September 1, 2025. During this period, no routine services for U.S. citizens or visa services will be provided.
The embassy is scheduled to reopen on Tuesday, September 2 at its new address. Routine services and visa appointments are set to resume on that date. U.S. citizens and their family members who experience emergencies such as arrest or death during the closure can contact the American Citizen Services Unit by calling 242-322-1181 or emailing acsnassau@state.gov.

Visitors are cautioned about limited parking around the new embassy and are encouraged to plan their trip ahead of time. They are also reminded not to bring phones, electronic devices, or items containing electronic chips or cameras when attending appointments.
