The embassies of France, Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom, and the United States, along with the European Union Office in Kosovo, have issued a joint statement expressing concern over actions by political actors that may limit competition among parties representing non-majority communities ahead of the local elections scheduled for October 12.

According to their statement: "Any such act to exclude certain communities undermines democratic principles and erodes trust in Kosovo’s institutions."

The group called on both the outgoing government and all political parties to avoid any further measures that could prevent parties from registering. They emphasized that all procedures should be conducted strictly according to the rules and mandate of the Central Election Commission. Additionally, they encouraged affected parties to utilize the Election Complaints and Appeals Panel if they seek redress.
