Large protests are expected to continue in Belgrade and across Serbia, with police estimating that tens of thousands may participate. Previous demonstrations have included violent incidents in various areas of Belgrade. Authorities anticipate significant crowds, as well as closures of streets and bridges, which could lead to traffic delays. Disruptions to mobile phone service are also possible.

The U.S. Embassy in Belgrade has advised American citizens to avoid protest areas when possible. The embassy statement said, "U.S. citizens are advised to avoid protest areas if possible. Should you encounter disorderly crowds or violent situations, leave the area immediately. If you are unable to leave, find a safe location to shelter in place."

Recommended precautions include monitoring local media for updates, staying indoors when feasible, keeping sufficient food and water supplies, maintaining a low profile, notifying friends and family about personal safety, remaining aware of surroundings, and making plans either to leave or shelter in place if necessary.

For assistance, U.S. citizens can contact the Embassy Belgrade at +381 (11) 706-4000 or by email at BelgradeACS@state.gov. Additional information is available on the embassy's website and through the State Department’s Consular Affairs offices at +1 888-407-4747 or +1 202-501-4444.
