The United States and Vietnam are marking 30 years of diplomatic relations in 2025. The two countries first established bilateral ties on July 11, 1995, after working to build trust and mutual understanding.
As part of the anniversary campaign, the U.S. Mission to Vietnam has introduced an official logo commemorating three decades of partnership. The design is inspired by a previous logo created for the 25th anniversary by Vietnamese artist Trần Hoài Đức. That original logo showed the flags of both nations intertwined as a flying dove, representing a commitment to peace.
This year’s campaign also features mascots based on national symbols from each country: the Eagle for the United States and the Lạc bird for Vietnam. According to organizers, "The Eagle embodies strength, courage, and freedom, while the Lạc bird symbolizes resilience, beauty, and independence. Together, they represent the enduring and soaring spirit of the U.S.–Vietnam partnership."
