Samsung Electronics has launched its new large-screen Odyssey G7 monitors at Gamescom 2025, held in Cologne, Germany from August 20 to August 24. The company also introduced updates to its glasses-free Odyssey 3D gaming ecosystem and announced new partnerships with game publishers and developers.
“We are thrilled to unveil our latest products and new gaming partnerships at a world-leading event like Gamescom,” said Hoon Chung, Executive Vice President and Head of Enterprise Business Team of the Visual Display (VD) Business at Samsung Electronics. ”Our recent collaborations will deliver more authentic gameplay through optimized 3D effects tailored to each title. We will continue to lead the premium gaming monitor market by enhancing hardware performance and deepening game partnerships like these.”
Samsung continues to hold a leading position in the global gaming monitor market. According to International Data Corporation (IDC), Samsung had an 18.9% share of the worldwide market for gaming monitors in the first quarter of 2025, marking six consecutive years as the top brand and indicating strong potential for a seventh year. In Europe, its market share reached 24.6%.
The newly introduced Odyssey G7 (G75F model) is available in two sizes: a 37-inch model with 4K UHD resolution (3,840×2,160 pixels) and a 40-inch Wide UHD model offering 5K2K resolution (5,120×2,160 pixels) with a 21:9 aspect ratio. These options expand Samsung’s range beyond existing offerings between 32- and 43-inch sizes.
Features on both models include Picture-by-Picture (PBP), Picture-in-Picture (PIP), VESA DisplayHDR 600 certification, and up to 350 nits brightness for contrast and color reproduction suitable for games or video content.
At Gamescom, attendees can try out “Genshin Impact” on both display sizes at Samsung’s booth located in Hall Nine on the first floor.
The Odyssey G7 is currently available in Korea and the United States; European availability is set for September.
Samsung also revealed expansions within its glasses-free Odyssey 3D ecosystem via new partnerships with Netmarble and SHIFT UP. Attendees can experience Netmarble’s upcoming title “MONGIL: STAR DIVE” as well as SHIFT UP’s “Stellar Blade” in glasses-free three-dimensional mode at the event.
From August 22-23, Samsung will host The World of #PlayGalaxy user experience event at Dock2 in central Cologne. The event offers hands-on access across various devices including Galaxy Z Fold7 smartphones and Odyssey 3D monitors.
Through ongoing developer partnerships, Odyssey 3D provides customizable depth effects without requiring special glasses; players can adjust focal distance settings per game according to their preference.
The library on Samsung’s dedicated Odyssey 3D Hub platform currently includes over twenty-five games such as “The First Berserker: Khazan.” By year-end, this number is expected to surpass fifty titles—including “Lies of P: Overture,” “Stellar Blade,” and “MONGIL: STAR DIVE”—with updated lists accessible through MS Store or Samsung.com.
In addition to its own booth displays at Gamescom, Samsung is collaborating with studios such as Blizzard and Pearl Abyss by providing flagship monitors—including the ultra-high refresh rate Odyssey OLED G6 (500Hz) and the Odyssey OLED G8 (4K/240Hz)—for use across partner exhibition spaces so visitors can view high-quality graphics firsthand.
Attendees may visit Samsung's stand on Floor One in Hall Nine at booths B030 or C031 during Gamescom.
