The U.S. Embassy has announced that consular officials will visit Tonga from September 8 to 12, 2025. The services offered during this period include passport renewals, Consular Reports of Birth Abroad for children of American citizens, and notary services for documents intended for use in the United States.

Appointments are required to access these services. According to the announcement, applicants must request an appointment by emailing TongaACS@state.gov before the close of business on Friday, September 5, 2025. Walk-in applications will not be accepted due to limited availability.

The consular team will be available at the U.S. Embassy office located on Level 4 of the Tonga Reserve Bank building in Nukualofa.

Applicants are advised of standard processing times: emergency limited passports typically take two to three weeks; regular passports require four to six weeks; and Consular Reports of Birth Abroad are processed in five to seven weeks.
